Unique retreat in Järfälla 3–5 October wants to equip for evangelization
Deacon Pancho Chin A Loi of Holy Trinity Parish Järfälla writes: "Bishop Cardinal Anders Arborelius has invited Deacon Larry Oney and his wife Andi Oney and evangelist Terry Quinn from Ireland to preach in Holy Trinity Catholic Church on October 3-5. Terry is an authentic witness of Christ, with a deep relationship with Jesus Christ and a living knowledge of the scriptures. Terry has an astonishing ability to engage and is a prophetic voice for our time. Larry Oney is a deacon in the Archdiocese of New Orleans and serves at Divine Mercy Parish in Kenner, Louisiana. Deacon Oney strives to proclaim God's kingdom (Matthew 10:7), wanting to show that God has a plan and purpose for our lives (Jer. 29:11) and wants to heal broken hearts (John 10:10b)"

Their preaching emphasizes the spiritual gifts at work and is focused on awakening faith in people's hearts and conveying healing, hope, and love. Deacon Larry wishes to meet with priests and deacons in the diocese, and a special occasion for this is Friday morning. [See the full program here].
Events in September:
Retreat, liberation and healing with P Dominic in Oskarström 19 Sept and in Järfälla 23 Sept
Committee for Evangelization in the Catholic Diocese of Stockholm
In the diocesan announcements for September, is announced that a new committee for evangelization has been established in the Catholic Church in Sweden: Msgr. Andrés Bernar Borda, with whom CHARIS had previously been in contact as bishops vicar for evangelization, has been appointed chairman of the new committee and P. Thomas Idergard S.J. as consultant and executive member. The other members are Ulf Ekman, Jim Lagerlöf, Magnus Wetterberg and Rodas Berhane. Rodas is the youngest member of the committee, she is 25 years old, lives in Järfälla and is a youth consultant in St. Eugenia parish [read more about her on KPN's website].
Participation in the evangelization of the Church is a key issue for CHARIS, and we hope for a good and dynamic cooperation with the new committee and that all the charismatic gifts will be in use.
Lillemor Hallin's funeral was in the sign of light. An appeal for evangelical joy, evangelism, unity and healing.
On August 20, F Morgan Elworth officiated at a funeral mass for Lillemor Hallin in Our Lady's Church in Täby. Many had joined in, family and relatives, Catholic and ecumenical friends, the Bridget sisters in Djursholm where she had lived in her last years.
There was a lot of light and joy over this funeral service. The opening hymn was Laudate omnes gentes. It was beautiful to see the Bridget sisters gathered around her coffin at the end of the mass singing Salve Regina.

In his sermon, F. Morgan focused on the joy and closeness to laughter that so often characterized Lillemor and that rubbed off on those around him: There are bad and good laughter, mocking laughter and pure selfless joy, he noted. Laughter that offends and laughter that uplifts. Lillemor's laughter was always uplifting, even sanctified: "The hallowed laughter was promised in the prophets. ' Praise will be heard from there and happy laughter. I will make them multiple, not fewer, I will do them honor, not low." (Jer. 30:19). 'We laughed, we sang for joy.' (Psalm 126)... Was this nature or supernatural? Not even Thomas Aquinas knows exactly what comes out of creation, out of genes and environment, and what is a fruit of grace, a gift of the Spirit. It's a mixture of both. Being filled with the Spirit does not make me abnormal. On the contrary. Holiness is a normal state."
The first time I came into contact with Lillemor was [in 1981 on an all-Christian prayer day in Katarina church]. At the time, she spoke with urging seriousness about the Christians' lack of unity as a sin to be repented for. She recounted the prophecy from the Great Ecumenical Conference in Kansas City 4 years earlier: "Mourn and weep, for the body of my Son is broken..."
The words went straight into my heart. I was both happy and filled with hope to hear a Catholic speak about Christian unity in this concrete way.
It is a sign that Lillemor's funeral took place in the middle of the ecumenical week that was celebrated here in Stockholm to commemorate the 1700th anniversary of the Nicene Creed and the 100th anniversary of the ecumenical meeting in Uppsala in 1925. Institutional manifestations are all well and good, but if they are not accompanied by repentance of the heart and deciciveness to repent, then it can easily only be as clanging cymbals. Lillemor appealed to every person's heart, and the words she ended her speech with in Katarina Church in 1981 are just as relevant today:
"The Lord says: I want the prayer for forgiveness and this spirit of penance to spread throughout our country. I want the prayer for forgiveness to be prayed in all churches, by all Christians throughout the country, so that I can lift the blockage of sin that prevents my body from functioning in Sweden. So that I can fill you all with my Holy Spirit in a way that you have not yet experienced, and into a ministry that you can still hardly imagine. Amen."
Lillemor Hallin encouraged all Christians to grow in faith in the Lord and work together and open ourselves to faith, hope and love. It is we who remain here on earth who are called to carry on this legacy.
The Mass ended with the hymn Cecilia no. 24: "In my God I have found strength, in my Lord I have everything. He has opened a way for me and changed my anxiety into a song of joy..." [Article in Dagen about Lillemor Hallin]

The new editions of Lillemor Hallin's books is complete
Just before her death, Lillemor managed to complete the project with the republication of five of her books, which are part of the spiritual legacy she left behind. [Here is an extended version of an article in Catholic Magazine presenting the books.]
